Union Coop and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation have signed a new agreement to expand cooperation on community and knowledge-focused initiatives across the UAE.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mohamed Al Hashemi, CEO of Union Coop, and HE Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation.
Under the agreement, Union Coop will provide space in its commercial centres to support the Foundation’s “Bil Arabi” initiative. It will also promote the Foundation’s community programmes through point-of-sale screens and social media channels. In return, the Foundation will highlight Union Coop’s role in community work.
Support for initiatives
Al Hashemi said the agreement reflects Union Coop’s commitment to educational and community programmes. He said: “We are proud to sign this agreement, noting that it underscores Union Coop’s commitment to supporting community and knowledge-driven programs that contribute to building an informed and cohesive society.”
He added: “Raising awareness and promoting knowledge is a shared responsibility, and Union Coop will continue to provide the necessary support to ensure the success of such initiatives.”
Foundation’s view
Bin Huwaireb welcomed the partnership and described Union Coop as a key collaborator.
He said: “The collaboration with Union Coop is one of the Foundation’s key partners with a shared vision for empowering the community intellectually and culturally.”
He added: “The agreement will enhance the reach of the ‘Bil Arabi’ initiative and other knowledge projects by utilizing Union Coop’s platforms and their presence across major shopping centers.”
He also expressed appreciation for Union Coop’s continued support and its role in promoting knowledge and community engagement in the UAE.
