Starting November 2025, passengers flying Economy Class with flydubai will receive complimentary meals and inflight entertainment on all flights, as part of the airline’s ongoing efforts to improve the customer experience.
The move marks a change in the airline’s fare structure and reflects its continued investment in passenger services, following recent enhancements to business class facilities and fleet upgrades.
Economy upgrade
flydubai’s CEO, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said the update is part of a broader shift in the airline’s offering.
“Redefining the Economy Class offering across all flights represents a significant evolution in our business model, offering customers a more elevated and convenient travel journey,” he said. “Our focus remains on investing in enhancing our customer experience and delivering added value across every touchpoint through services, technologies and product development.”
According to the airline, the decision was influenced by passenger feedback and changing market demands, as well as Dubai’s wider vision to grow as a global hub for travel and tourism.
Focus on added value
The airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, Hamad Obaidalla, said: “Over the years, our agile business model has enabled us to adapt quickly to challenges and unlock new opportunities as we continue to evolve and grow. This announcement has come at the right time as we prepare to expand our network, continue to grow our fleet and welcome more passengers on board year after year. By including meals and inflight entertainment in every ticket, we’re modifying the Economy Class fare structure and ensuring passengers get more value, while remaining competitive.”
flydubai’s inflight entertainment system offers over 1,000 films and TV shows in multiple languages, including content from HBO Max, BBC Kids and Cartoon Network. Passengers can also access games, E-magazines, podcasts and destination guides.
The onboard meal service features regionally inspired dishes, with menus tailored to the routes flown. Selections include cuisines from Africa, Europe, India, the Middle East, Russia and Southeast Asia.
Expanding fleet and services
The airline has added nine new Boeing 737 aircraft this year, bringing its total fleet to 95, with three more expected by the end of 2025. A retrofit programme is also underway, introducing lie-flat seats in Business Class and upgraded Economy seating across its older aircraft.
flydubai plans to introduce the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to its fleet from 2027, which will support the airline’s ambitions to serve longer routes and increase capacity.
