Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), under the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has confirmed that new amendments to Darb toll gate timings will come into effect starting Monday, September 1.
Updated Darb toll gate hours
The revised peak hour timings are as follows:
Morning period: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM (unchanged)
Evening period: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM (new timing)
These changes will apply from Monday to Saturday. Sundays and official public holidays will remain toll-free.
Daily and monthly toll caps removed
In a significant update, the daily and monthly toll caps for private vehicles have been eliminated. This means:
No more daily limit of Dhs16
No more monthly caps of Dhs200, Dhs150, or Dhs100 for the first, second, or additional vehicles
Drivers will now be charged Dhs4 per Darb gate crossing, with no cap on total daily or monthly charges.
Exemptions remain in place
The current exemption policy will still apply to eligible groups, including:
People of Determination
Senior citizens
Retirees
Low-income families
These groups will continue to enjoy relief from toll fees as per existing rules.
Q Mobility, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company (ADQ), will now manage and operate the Darb toll system.
The company will work closely with government authorities to ensure smooth implementation of the new changes.
