HONOR unveils Magic V5 with advanced battery technology

HONOR has introduced its latest foldable smartphone, the Magic V5, featuring a slim design and what it claims is the largest battery ever used in a foldable device.

Ultra-slim foldable design

Measuring just 8.8mm thick when folded, the HONOR Magic V5 combines a lightweight build with a 5820mAh battery—making it one of the most powerful and compact foldables in the market. This launch highlights the brand’s continued focus on battery innovation in mobile technology.

Silicon-carbon battery upgrade

At the core of this development is HONOR’s latest silicon-carbon battery. The upgraded battery features 15% high-silicon content and a slim profile of just 2.59mm, enabling greater power storage without compromising the phone’s design.

According to HONOR, silicon-carbon batteries offer higher energy density compared to traditional lithium-ion options, allowing for longer battery life in a more compact form.

AI-driven power management

The Magic V5 also incorporates AI-powered battery management via the HONOR E2 chip. This 4-in-1 chipset is designed to improve charging efficiency, manage battery health, and reduce overall power consumption.

“By implementing advanced battery management systems, it helps to manage battery health for enhancing the longevity of the battery, optimizing charging patterns and reducing power consumption,” the company stated.

Fast charging options

For quick power-ups, the Magic V5 supports 66W wired and 50W wireless HONOR SuperCharge. With a compatible wired charger, the phone reaches 50% charge in just 16 minutes and a full charge in 43 minutes.

The Magic V5 will be available for pre-order soon in several color options, including Dawn Gold, Ivory White, Reddish Brown, and Black.
