Hala users in Dubai have collectively saved around Dhs15 million on taxi rides over the past four years by subscribing to the Careem Plus programme, according to figures released by the company.

The savings reflect growing demand for cost-efficient transport in the city, with thousands of riders using the subscription to reduce travel expenses.

Careem Plus benefits

Subscribers to Careem Plus pay a monthly fee of Dhs19 and receive 10% cashback instantly on every Hala ride, credited directly to their Careem wallet. On average, a Hala user saves about Dhs40 each month on rides alone.

Across all Careem services, the average savings per month exceed Dhs300 for active members, with some of the most frequent users saving over Dhs1,000.

Khaled Nuseibeh, CEO of Hala, said: “We are pleased to see such strong engagement with Careem Plus among Hala riders. The consistent growth in usage demonstrates that customers value the tangible savings and simplicity that the programme provides. As part of our commitment to supporting urban mobility in Dubai, we will continue to enhance the user experience through offerings that are accessible, practical, and genuinely rewarding.”

Careem Plus is part of Careem’s broader “Everything App” and offers a range of benefits beyond transport. These include free delivery on food and grocery orders, discounts on dining, home services, Careem Bike, and international money transfers.

Hala, a joint venture between Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Careem, continues to support the city’s efforts to improve smart urban mobility through accessible digital solutions.
